Perks

Hi folks,

Many thanks to Susann Hunt for forwarding this information regarding benefits now available with NCL for both CCG and CCG Alumni.

As of today Aug 6, 2024, Norwegian Cruise Lines is expanding the benefits of their Military Appreciation Program to active Canadian service members, veterans and their dependents from the Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Navy, Royal Canadian Air Force and Canadian Coast Guard.

“Beginning today, eligible members of the Canadian armed forces (including CCG) will receive special on board experiences, amenities, and a 10 percent cruise fare discount across all sailings on all ships throughout the entire NCL fleet.”

NCL press release regarding this program can be found here.

To learn more about Norwegian Cruise Line’s Military Appreciation Program, including how to register, click here.

When you select the above website to register you will need to start two accounts. The first will be to register for a my.NCL account.  Then you will be directed to create an ID.Me account.  NCL uses the ID.Me account to verify your CG affiliation. I completed as CCG and then Retiree and I used a photo of my CF 1 Card to complete the registration process.  I presume an Alumni Photo ID Card would also be an asset for the program.

Hope you might be able to benefit from this.

All the best,
John           August 2024

CF-1 Card

The CF-1 card is the one card you need to access programs and services delivered by Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS).

Benefits are explained by clicking on the left-hand image.  Application instructions are available here.

To receive an Alumni photo ID just send me, JohnP at president@ccgapacific.ca a smiling head and shoulders photo (no glasses or hat).  Then send $5 via e-transfer to Gillian at pacificccga@gmail.com or a cheque to:  Attn Treasurer, CG Association , 25 Huron St, Victoria, BC V8V 4V9

I will assign you a membership number and have the Base Commissionaire make up an ID Card for you.  I will let you know when it’s ready and you can either pick it up from the Base or it can be mailed to you.

Hi folks,

I am very pleased to confirm that the Canadian Forces are now welcoming all CCG Alumni members (Alumni Photo ID card is required) to join the Naden Athletic Centre for only $92.40/year ($11.00 monthly rates also available).  For more details on the gym, pool, and other facilities, and to sign up, call (250) 363-5677.

Hope some might be able to benefit from this great opportunity.  Please contact me should you still need to obtain an Alumni membership photo ID card.

All the very best, John   (May 31/24)
